Romance
Oboe
Romance was commissioned by fellow BYU grad student Erika Qureshi. This piece is the second in my (apparently) growing collection titled "Works for Solo, Unaccompanied Winds Using Twelve-tone Rows that I Stole from a Second-Year Dictation Packet". The row used to write this piece is intriguing in that the first seven notes are all diatonic to E-flat major, but the last five suddenly wander outside of the scale.
