Leviathan

Mixed Ensemble

"Leviathan" was written in Spring of 2013. It is loosely modeled after Anton Webern's Concerto for 9 Instruments, Op. 24, and makes use of the same instrumentation, formal structure, and 12-tone row, though this piece isn't strictly a 12-tone work. This piece was an important turning point for me as a composer, as it helped me to let go of traditional tonalities and embrace my own "emancipation of dissonance".
